Spiritually Speaking, what child under age 10 needs to come online?

What does a child have to do online under age 10, 3rd grade or under, that they need to do?
Are they on message boards?
Are they in chat rooms?
Are they getting into things they shouldn’t?

Do you allow your child to succomb to “Satan” by entering the Internet?

Apparently some people think it’s okay for kids to be on the Internet, but do you honestly think the Parent Safety features are blocking unwanted content? I have kids in high school who get around blocked sites by going to an alternate site and re-typing in the address to the blocked sites to get around it. Do you think your own child is not doing that as well? Are you able to keep up with them?

Or will Jesus save them?

I think the internet is the new TV. You know, people who plunk their kid down in front of the TV to shut them up and keep them occupied. Now they just get told to go play on the internet instead of watch TV. Oh, and don’t forget to take your Ritalin.

Censorship does not help your children. Shielding them from the real world will not be beneficial in the long run.

Also those kids are a big help to Chris Hanson.

I am right there where I can see and hear everything going on, time is limited, and I did it until my kid was 16.

All of them. Properness, HA! It’s a miracle we don’t sew their eyes shut.

I like to think that Jesus will save them, actually. Have some faith in Christ and your own kids, and relate to your children. It is far, far better to help your child make good decisions when they encounter message boards and chat rooms, than to try and hide them from the internet (or any other influences in society).

Why do 6 year olds need cell phones. We live in an age in which all of us, children included are bombarded with junk all the time. We as parents need to take reasonable precautions but we can not protect them from everything.

As you mentioned high school age kids getting around filters but a 10 year old? They will learn and as a parent you have to learn right along with them to block what you can.

In the end Christians have to trust that Jesus will watch over them for we can not be everywhere but he is.

My oldest son, who is now nine, comes on the internet regularly, as he has his own computer in his room. He uses the net to play games, talk to his friends from school, chat with his grandparents, send them emails, and do research for school stuff. I have an excellent parental block, that I configure quite often, and as he is so young I monitor the websites he uses. He is not allowed into chat rooms, if he wants to talk to his friends, they better have an msn address. He has been using the net at home since he was 6, and at school since age 7.

Since I am a good parent, I know my son is not trying to get around the blocks I have set. We also do not believe in satan or jesus, so that plays no part in my decision.

my 11 year of is a young missionary and i have full faith in her. she is a straight a student and yes she uses the internet to research school projects and studys online bible….so if you raise your children with the right morals you have no worries. it is all the the morals you in-steal in them.
